Citizens Advisory Committee

The Citizens Advisory Committee, or CAC, is an advisory group for the Policy Board that provides recommendations on community issues and concerns. The CAC meets prior to the Policy Board to review items on the Policy Board Agenda. The CAC is composed of citizens appointed by the Policy Board to represent the public interest in transportation decision making. The CAC usually meets at 6:30 PM on the second Thursday of the month at the Morgantown Municipal Airport conference room.

 

Technical Advisory Committee

The Transportation Technical Advisory Committee, or T TAC, is an advisory group for the Policy Board that provides recommendations on technical issues and planning efforts. The TTAC is made up of technical staff from the various agencies and local governments that participated in the MPO process. The TAC meets prior to the Policy Board. These meetings are held to make recommendations on items prior to consideration by the Policy Board. The TAC usually meets at 1:30 PM on the second Tuesday of the month at the Morgantown Municipal Airport conference room.

 

Policy Advisory Committee

The Policy Advisory Committee is made up of representatives of the businesses community and the economic development community who provide the Policy Board with their perspective on the impact of the Boards proposed policies and projects. This group meets once or twice a year to review the MPO's policies and activities.

 

Policy Board

The Policy Board is the decision-making body of the MPO. The Board is made up of elected and appointed officials from member local governments and major organizations in the Greater Morgantown region.

The Policy Board has a regular meetings every other month. Currently, the board meets in Morgantown City Council chambers at 7 PM on the third Thursday of every other month. Meeting in City Council chambers allows the board to show the meetings live on public access television (Channel 15, Adelphia). The Policy Board is responsible for preparing and approving the areas Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), the area's Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and the MPO's Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). The LRTP plans for transportation infrastructure improvements 20 to 25 years in advance. The LRTP include the improvements needed to the area's roadway network, public transportation infrastructure, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The TIP is the funding schedule for implementing transportation improvements in the area. If Federal Funds are to be used for a project they must approved by the Policy Board in the MPO's LRTP and TIP. The UPWP is the work program for MPO Staff. Work included in the UPWP is funded by Federal, State, and local funds.
