Citizens Advisory CommitteeThe Citizens Advisory Committee, or CAC, is an advisory group for the Policy Board that provides recommendations on community issues and concerns. The CAC does not have voting powers. Current membership is reflected here. The CAC will meet when requested by the Policy Board. Usually, these meetings are held to discuss an item that has been referred by the Policy Board to the CAC for additional comments or public input. When a meeting is needed, the CAC will meet at 1:30 PM on the third Tuesday of the month at the Morgantown Municipal Airport conference room.
Technical Advisory CommitteeThe Technical Advisory Committee, or TAC, is an advisory group for the Policy Board that provides recommendations on technical issues and planning efforts. The TAC does not have voting powers. Current membership is reflected here. The TAC will meet when requested by the Policy Board. Usually, these meetings are held to discuss an item that has been referred by the Policy Board to the TAC for additional research or analysis. When a meeting is needed, the TAC will meet at 1:30 PM on the second Tuesday of the month at the Morgantown Municipal Airport conference room.
Policy BoardThe Policy Board is the decision-making body of the MPO. The Board is made up of elected and appoonted officials from member local governments and major organizations in the Greater Morgantown region. Current membership is reflected here. The Policy Board has a regular meeting once a month. Currently, the board meets in Morgantown City Council chambers at 7 PM on the third Thursday of every month. Meeting in City Council chambers allows the board to also show the meetings live on public access television (Channel 15, Adelphia). The meetings have a standard format. A typical meeting consists of three parts. The first part addresses administration (review and approval of previous minutes, public comment period, committee reports, etc). The second part addresses old business, most noticeabaly TIP amendments up for approval, follow-up on previous months' items, and other continuing items. The final part of the meeting is set aside for new business. The Policy Board will also periodically request presentations from local leaders, developers, private citizens, and other groups. |
